Artist Pitch / Inspiration

Special is my debut single, and it is one of the most personal songs I have ever created. <br> <br>I was inspired to write it from the experience of losing my mother when I was nine years old. She was a single mother who worked hard and struggled to provide for us when we were young. She passed away before she could see us grow into the people we are today. <br> <br>Growing up without her left me with questions and a kind of grief that never completely disappeared. Even now, as a 26-year-old woman, I still find myself wishing she were here to see how far I have come, to experience the life I am building, and to share these moments with me. <br> <br>Special is my way of expressing that feeling. It is about missing someone deeply, remembering the love they gave you, and carrying that love with you even when they are no longer physically present. <br> <br>I wanted the song to be something that goes beyond my own story. Although it comes from my experience of losing my mother, I hope listeners who have lost someone they love—or who simply miss someone important to them—can hear their own emotions in the song. <br> <br>For me, Special represents love, grief, remembrance, and resilience. It is the beginning of my journey as ITSREEMS, and I hope it allows people to connect with not only my voice, but also my story.
