MAN OF THE HOUR, nice to have you on today’s episode of TALK WITH US. EASTSIDEALIEN, let’s get to know you officially. What’s your real name?
My real name is Udegbunam Richmond Chiemezie.
The name EASTSIDEALIEN is unique, and your intro tag “Tryna get it done” is even more unique. What does it mean exactly? What inspired that phrase?
I take it as a motivational statement for my craft. It’s all about getting greatness done for the world to see.
Your rap lines always have a deep message tagged along. What’s your creative process?
Uhmm, nothing really, just reminiscing about my past experiences and having good energy around me, which fuels my grind.
Let’s discuss the title AREA 51. How did that name come about?
Well, AREA 51, as we already know, is a military base that has become synonymous with UFOs and alien invasions. Adapting the name was in relation to my stage name ‘EASTSIDEALIEN’ and my sound hosting an invasion in the industry.
How do you expect the general public to react to this release?
So far so good, they’re doing it. Though the support is never enough, I’m expecting big things in my life and career with this one, lol.
We realized your project doesn’t have any features, unlike your last body of work. Any particular reason?
Initially, I had a track with a family feature (my brother), but the project was a debut rebrand for my brand as EASTSIDEALIEN, so I had to get it done (though I had my VTB family with me always).
What are the achievements you’re hoping to gain from the project?
Breakout is the goal. The project was made to capture the heart of the nation, and we’ll get there eventually by the grace of God.
Let’s say AREA 51 becomes your breakthrough project. What will be your next move?
The goal is to get bigger, so we’re looking at big doings too, my guy, lol. The feature with JeriQ was a kickstart. Soon, we’ll be playing with the big boys. Pray for me. I can’t do this without my loyal fans. Listen to my music and introduce your friends to listen. One for all, all for one.
