Mohammed Usman Adamu who is well known with the stage name Magnito is a Nigeria Rapper and a Business Management graduate from the University of Jos, he discovered his talent for rap at school. Magnito started rapping right from when he was 19 years old. Magnito was born on the 15th of September 1993, In Abuja, Nigeria where he had both his primary and secondary education. He hails from the idoma tribe of Benue state in North-central Nigeria. Magnito figured out that he has a talent and can rap when he was in Unijos through his friend known as “Philosophy” who is also a rapper in the school. He usually listens to other rappers like Jay Z, Busta Rhymes, 2pac, and Biggy and imitate them.
Mohammed started a group called “Mic Checkers” with his friend “Philosophy“
He said
“I figured I had talent in rap while I was in the university. I had a friend called Philosophy back in school. I would sit and listen to him rap and try to imitate him. It did not work out at first but all of a sudden I got the zeal to write my lines and people liked it. I was listening to other rap artists like Jay Z, Busta Rhymes, 2pac, and Biggy and tried to imitate them as well. Later, Philosophy and I started a group called Mic Checkers. In Jos, MI used to organize rap battles called Jam session and I was always there. The rap battles were put online for everyone to see so everyone tried to be on top of their game.
Magnito released his first song in the university titled “ Tele Mi” which was produced by DaCapo according to him, He said the studio session was N25, 000 and he didn’t have enough money to avoid the session and need to sell his deck for N15, 000 in the University for the studio session in Abuja.
He is signed to Big E Entertainment, owned by Eddie Winebar in Port- Harcourt. In 2010, Magnito got the attention of music lovers with his hit single titled ‘Medicine girl’ which gained a lot of massive airplay.
He however rose to fame and became a well-known rapper in 2016 after his song, ‘If I Get Money Ehn‘ became a hit and he did the remix with Patoranking.

He has so far recorded over 85 songs such as Kaka, Medicine girl, As I get money, Relationship be like, Philomina, Ungrateful, Goat featuring Ice Prince, DJ Kenny, Karl Williams, and many more and also he has released several albums like “Shocking News”, “Freshout 01” and the recently released album titled “Bars And Lamba” which consist of 5 tracks with features Zanku master, Zlatan, Umu Obiligbo and melody singer, Ninety.
Magnito has worked with top artists such as Durella, Rayce, Phyno, Jaywon, Duncan Mighty, Patoranking, Falz, Zlatan, and so on.
Personal Life Magnito faced a lot of challenges from his family in the early stages of his career. His music career was built by him because his family wants him to work with FCDA and start selling land in Abuja. But because of his passion for music, he traveled to Lagos after graduating from Unijos instead of him going home.
He stayed in Lagos for a while where he met a friend called Mohammed Basia who both invested their money in his music career.
